Tip for the Father of the bride:
Traditionally, the father gives consent for the marriage of
his daughter to the man worthy of his daughters hand.
The father demonstrates his blessing by either arranging or
presenting the happy couple with a gift, such as the Wedding
Reception, appropriate token gesture, etc. Today, the
modern wedding is literally packaged by the Bride and Groom
leaving little for the Father to be involved with...until
the speech! This is a special day for you as much
as it is your daughters. Many proud fathers look upon
inheriting a son to the family as opposed to losing a
daughter. What you say during your speech when it
is your turn to deliver will count as one of the most
important aspects of the day. Enjoy it!!
Tip for all:
We suggest you set aside the time to prepare your
speech rather than hurry to write it down with a day to
go to the big day...think of why you are going to be
there instead of just remembering who you will have to
thank!
Tip for all:
The speech can of course be humorous but keep in mind
that there is nothing more embarrassing than an embarrassing
episode openly discussed among friends and especially
family!
Tip for all:
A great tip is to think of your guests - yes, sometimes speeches can over run,
but will your well prepared speech feel like an
eternity to them?!
True, there is nothing worse than an ill-prepared
speech!
Tip for the Groom:
A good tip is to include your new wife in the speech -
one of the first duties you will be able to address as the
husband. |
