Wedding Tips

One of the hardest things encountered after securing the date in the venue's diary is the seating plan.

Pimlico Entertainment suggest that the seating plan should be discussed and appropriately worked out by both of you - or you may end up restarting the plan again!

Once you have the general idea, confirm and inform the venue at an early stage, discussing in person your plans.

Venue

Once decorated and presented, most venues look perfect for a great wedding.  However, many questions should be asked before booking your 'idyllic reception'.

a) Is the venue's function room to big or small for your guests?  Try to make a point of visiting the location and discussing your guest and seating plans with the venues booking officer.

b) Location is very important too. If the venue is situated in the middle of town, how will travel to and from the venue be affected by traffic?

Where are the closest parking facilities to the venue?  In this day and age, is the parking covered by security or CCTV?

If the venue is outside of town, what public transport facilities are available?   Are Taxi facilities close by?

c) Does the Venue have a sound limiter installed?  if so, it means that sound levels are metered during your entertainment and will shut off electrical power to the entertainers area.  Because some venues are situated near residences, the levels set on the limiter can be very responsive - even to lively chat and raised background noise when the room is well attended!

d) If the Venue has other function rooms in operation on the day, what arrangements are made to ensure segregation of parties to avoid confusion and possible confrontation of 'intoxicated' guests!

e) Although every attempt is made to ensure your function goes smoothly, what reassurances are given about your hired services access to the venue during the day, the security of the venue.

f) Are all licences in place and are you expected to obtain / supply temporary licences?
